Turn on the connector

Layout is a connector. You switch it on once inside the assistant you already use, approve the connection, and from then on you can just ask for food in the same chat window you use for everything else.

The live list of assistants is at layout.link/connectors. Today that includes Claude and Poke, plus Layout's own iOS app and ordering by text message, with more on the way. If an assistant is not on that page, we are not in it yet, whatever else you may have read.

What you connect to

One address, for every assistant:

https://mcp.layout.link

Some assistants ask for that URL directly. Where one lists Layout in its own connector directory you never see it. Layout is a standard remote MCP server, so a client that speaks MCP can use that address whether or not it lists us: see connect any MCP client.

Adding it

  1. Open your assistant's connector settings

In Claude these live under settings, in the connectors section. Poke keeps them under integrations. Most other clients follow one of those two names.

  2. Add Layout

Pick Layout from the directory if it is there. If your assistant asks for an address instead, give it https://mcp.layout.link.

  3. Sign in and approve

A Layout page opens and asks you to sign in with your phone. Then you get one approval screen listing what the connection can do. That screen is the whole permission: read it, and approve it if you are happy.

  4. Ask for something

Back in the chat, say "order me a large cold brew from the Dutch Bros near me." That is the test.

Step by step screenshots for each assistant live in the help center, starting with Add Layout to Claude.

What the connection can do

Approving Layout lets your assistant do exactly what you could do yourself in a chat with us: look up restaurants, read menus, build an order, read your saved preferences, and place an order you have confirmed.

It does not hand the assistant your card, and it does not let the assistant spend on its own. Confirmation happens between you and Layout, on a total we calculated, and a model cannot wave it through. That is the point of money controls.

If it will not connect

Three things account for almost every failed connection:

  • You are signed in to a different Layout account than the one with your card on it.
  • Your invite has not been redeemed yet, so there is no account for the connection to attach to.
  • The assistant is not one we are live in. Check layout.link/connectors.

If none of those fit, contact us and tell us which assistant you are using. That one detail saves the most time.

Turning it off

Remove the connector in your assistant, and it stops working immediately.

You can also cut it off from our side. Layout's iOS app lists every assistant currently connected to your account, under Applications, and revoking one there takes effect on its next call rather than whenever that assistant happens to notice. Removing a connector does not close your account or delete your order history.
